Shelleen was raised on a mixed farm north of Maidstone, Saskatchewan. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) at the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Animal Science and a minor in Crop Science. She worked for the Farm Debt Review Board and Farm Land Security Board after finishing her degree and during this time she completed the requirements to become a Professional Agrologist. After a short stint of travel and working for ADC, she started working for the MD of Smoky River, first as an Assistant Ag. Fieldman and then as the Ag. Fieldman. After 14 years with the municipality, it was time for a change.

SARDA was a fairly new organization, when Shelleen first shared their office building. She watched the organization evolve and their reputation grow. She worked with SARDA as the Ag. Fieldman and joined SARDA as a temporary employee, in May, 2008. Currently, Shelleen looks after the extension program and oversees the environment program for SARDA.

Shelleen’s husband, Marc, and his brother operate a 5000 acre grain and oilseed farm near Falher. Marc and Shelleen have four children together. Shelleen can be found most falls operating one of the family combines.
